This is the second Kimber 1911 that I've run hard in a year, and it's the second time that I've had a pistol run exactly like it should on initial usage. The first pistol was a Master Carry Pro in .45 ACP that I shot over 1,100 rounds with, without adding any lubrication, right out of the box.

Resale on the CDP's is fast. Frontstrap checkering is nice, but on the alloy frame, it is sensitive to large rings. Pro TLE II seems better choice if two tone and service melt and ambi is not required. With TLE you still have night sights, and front strap checkering. Pro Carry II is a Base model. The primary thing I think was they reduced the amount of the carry melt treatment a little. The basic difference between Series II and pre-series II (like yours) is the Series II guns have a Swartz firing pin safety.
